Creating Topics

The key to making it easy for people to use your Online Help System is organizing your information into Topics.

To create a Topic:

  1. To create a topic, click the Create a New Topic button in the toolbar at the top of the window.  The New Topic window is displayed.  

  1. Enter the Topic Title you wish to use.  

  2. As you type the Topic Title, the same text is automatically entered in the File Name text box with the ".htm" extension.  You can use that File Name or change it.

  3. Click OK.  The new Topic is displayed.

  4. Repeat these steps to create each Topic.

For this Family Outing example, create the following Topics:

Prepare

Drive

Carry Stuff to Beach

Have Fun

Return

Unload, Clean, and Rest

The first Topic (Family Outing) was automatically created when we created the Online Help System.
